Was looking for a fancy dinner in Taos and thought this was the perfect place. Called for a reservation for one at 7:00, the lady on the phone was nice and respectful. I showed up and was seated at the perfect table for a private dinner alone, also had a cute little reserved place card which made it feel special. I ordered the filet with a side of broccolini, which all came out within 15 minutes and was delicious and perfectly cooked. My server recommended a great wine to go with my filet. Afterwards I ordered their Lava cake with a side of vanilla ice cream, it was so rich and creamy. If ever in Taos again will definitely go back!

One of our fav local places. On the spur of the moment, we decided to stop in for a drink and a bite. Because it was the night of Bonfires On Bent St, many locals had a similar idea, plus they had reservations for a number of large parties. Despite not having a reservation, the hostess got us a table in the bar within 15 minutes. As always, the drinks were well made. My husband's Steak Frites were terric and my Rainbow Trout was deliciously seasoned. We couldn't resist the Italian Lemon Cream Cake for dessert. Though the staff was pretty overwhelmed, everyone treated us pleasantly. Great end to a wonderful night!

My Sales Team and I went to Martyrs for dinner while in Taos. We were all very impressed with the food and service. My double pork chop was cooked to perfection. My team also complimented the salmon and Rib Eye steak dishes. Sides were a bit small but very tasty- especially the creamed spinach! For dessert, get the Lemon cake. It was better than the Volcano cake w/ice cream and the Creme Brulee. The service was very good! I would highly recommend!!!

My companion and I have been spending some time in Taos and eating in a lot of the local restaurants. Over the last six weeks we have enjoyed Martyr's every Friday evening for a drink. The bartender has been incredibly friendly and helpful and the drinks have been wonderfully balanced. The benefit of sitting at the bar for an after work week drink is that you get to watch the small but mighty kitchen put out plate after plate of delicious smelling, wonderful looking and ultimately tasty food. We've ordered a number of different items over the last two months and split each one of them. They have been absolutely wonderful, full of flavor and beautifully plated. The last dish we had was the crabcake with two tenderloin medallions on a bed of spinach mashed potatoes. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the crabcake was full of lump crab meat. I will also note that we had our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant for 24 of our friends. The service was spot on and the food was wonderful. Prior to our special night the hostess/manager went through the menu with us as well as the seating arrangements. Martyr's was very accommodating. It was obvious that she was interested in making sure our special night was indeed special.

Best restaurant in Taos...maybe the best mussels in the world. These little filter feeders came a long way to be in this amazing green chili broth. Forget butter and white wine, forget tomatoes and garlic, green chili broth with mussels is the best!!!! Wow!! Worth the 2.5 hour drive from ABQ.

The best restaurant in Taos. Period. Wonderfully prepared creative dishes using local ingredients, combining traditional Southwest foods with modern, intelligent preparation and presentation. The ambiance is tranquil, friendly and romantic. Choose two outside locations, or half a dozen rooms inside, all intimate and beautifully decorated as if inside an art gallery. There are about six diffent cuts of prime beef offered from chateaubriand, to ribeye. Heritage pork, roast chicken, rainbow trout, etc. there are also some pasta dishes and nightly specials. But if you want to scale it back a bit go with the black angus burger, enchiladas or tostadas. Better yet, stick with the tapas -- order a few and make a meal out of it.
